Optimal placement for best Zigbee signal on your EAGLE 3

To ensure the strongest and most reliable Zigbee signal between your EAGLE 3 and your utility meter:

• Keep the device within 30 meters (approximately 100 feet) of the meter.
• Position the device higher on a shelf or elevated surface like a desk and consider rotating it slightly to improve signal strength.
• Avoid placing the EAGLE 3 near metallic surfaces or electronic devices such as routers, microwaves, cordless phones, or other smart devices, as these can interfere with the Zigbee signal.
• Interference can also occur if the device is too close to the meter or your router.  Keep it at least 30 cm (1 foot) away.  Small adjustments in placement may improve connectivity.
• Minimize the number of walls between the EAGLE 3 and the meter whenever possible.  
• Concrete and stucco tend to block wireless signals, wood and non-tinted glass allow the signals to pass through more easily.
• The wireless range between the meter and the device is similar to what you would expect between a WiFi router and your smartphone - but keep in mind that the meter is located outside your building, so there is at least a wall in between.
