Rainforest can control and monitor charging either through your car's telematics system (your car communicates via cellular to the internet) or through a smart EV charger.
Many smart EV chargers support a protocol called OCPP, that allows software like ours to control chargers from many different companies.
To connect your charger to our system you'll need to do two things:
a) Connect the charger to the internet via Ethernet or WiFi.
b) Login to the charger's configuration page or app and point it to our system. This uses the OCPP protocol.
Through our app, we'll provide you with the secure credentials to configure our charger. The way this is done will vary per charger manufacturer, so please read the FAQs on this support site or the information that is provided by your charger manufacturer.
